World of Warcraft Battle for Azeroth

World of Warcraft Battle for Azeroth Release Date Announced

Blizzard has announced the release date for World of Warcraft‘s next expansion, Battle for Azeroth. It will release on August 14th, 2018. The last expansion for the iconic MMORPG, Legion, was released over two years ago in 2016, coinciding with the same year that the Warcraft movie adaptation was released.

According to the news post on Blizzard’s official site, the story is described as: “Azeroth paid a terrible price to end the apocalyptic march of the Legion’s crusade—but even as the world’s wounds are tended, it is the shattered trust between the Alliance and Horde that may prove hardest to mend. As this age-old conflict reignites, join your allies and champion your faction’s cause—Azeroth’s future will be forged in fire.”

Battle for Azeroth will be World of Warcraft‘s seventh expansion and players can pre-purchase the upcoming expansion here. The standard edition and digital deluxe edition will be available at $49.99 and $69.99, respectively. Players will need the main game and the Legion expansion to access Battle for Azeroth. Those who pre-purchase will also receive level 110 character boost and begin “earning the respect of the four new playable races.” The Digital Deluxe Edition will arrive with either the Zandalar Gilded Ravasaur (Horde) or Kul Tiras Seabraid Stallion (Alliance) mounts.

Other additional features arriving in the upcoming Battle for Azeroth expansion include new dungeons and raids, as well as a new level cap of 120. There will also be a new PvE mode inspired by classic Warcraft RTS battles, where players will participate in the large-scale 20-player cooperative Warfront to claim a key strategic location.

In other related news, World of Warcraft recently crossed over with the Family Guy animated series. The episode can be summarized as “Peter and the guys get caught pretending to be military veterans and are sentenced to join the Coast Guard.” The episode aired on April Fool’s Day on Fox.
