As the PlayStation Network reaches its 6th day in a row being completely inaccessible, users are growing increasingly frustrated. But it's not just the users that are feeling the sting of a PSN-less PlayStation 3. In fact, developers have the most to lose from the downtime, as every day that goes by, they aren't able to generate any revenue from Sony's service.
While speaking to IndustryGamers, Q-Games President and PixelJunk Producer, Dylan Cuthbert, talked of the financial impact the outage has caused his company:
PSN being out definitely affects our bottom line, but as long as the people who were going to be playing Shooter 2 and other PixelJunk titles will get right back in there playing them when it comes back up we'll be happy and hopefully income won't be dented too much.
One of the biggest gripes users have against Sony, is the lack of clear information regarding the outage. However, Sony isn't just keeping users in the dark:
Sony has contacted us to let us know they are working as hard as they can 24 hours a day to fully correct and secure the breach.
Apart from that we don't know any other information. Fingers crossed they'll get it up and running very soon.
This outage has the potential to harm Sony's relationships with their third-party partners as well as consumer trust in their products. It's also affected Sony shareholders as the corporation's stocks took a hit yesterday.
