It seems as though vampires are, once again, on the gaming menu. Dontnod’s Vampyr releases next month, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night also come out this year and, if the rumors are correct, the Code Vein release date implies that the post-apocalyptic JRPG isn’t too far behind either. In fact, it could very well be coming this summer.
We stress that the following information is, for now, considered as just a rumor rather than fact. Regardless, according to a recent GameReactor report, Finnish PR company 3H Distribution Oy has sent out press emails regarding Code Vein and its release date: July 2018.
This is massive news for fans of the game, who has been given lots of information regarding the gameplay and story of the game, but not that all important release date. If this rumor turns out to be true, then not only is it coming sooner than we expected, but it releases in just under two months. So, time to get hyped, right?
Sure, but it’s best to be skeptical about the release date until it has been confirmed by Bandai Namco themselves. If the rumor does have merit, then the possibility of Bandai Namco showing Code Vein off at E3 is pretty high and the news would most definitely be welcomed by fans.
There have been more than a few comparisons between Code Vein and Dark Souls, which already speaks volumes on the level of difficulty that is to be expected in the game. Though unlike Dark Souls, there has been no indication that the vampiric JRPG will be heading to the Switch, but who knows what the future will hold?
