Tekken 8 Heihachi Mishima DLC Release Date Window Set

Tekken 8 is the most recent entry in the long-running fighting series that spans 30 years, and one of its most memorable characters is coming back. Those who know the franchise well are aware of the supposed death of Heihachi Mishima in the seventh game. However, he’s back with a vengeance.

When is the Tekken 8 Heihachi Mishima DLC release date window?

The “King of the Iron Fast” will be the new DLC character to be released for Tekken 8, as revealed by Bandai Namco at this year’s EVO. The trailer shows a mysterious figure who has been besting fighters at a monastery. It’s soon revealed that this fighter is none other than Heihachi.

According to the clip, Heihachi will be released in the fall of this year. A recent report from IGN states this is likely to be sometime in August.

As one of the most iconic characters in the Tekken series, fans have been asking to see the aging fighter once more, who allegedly met his demise in the previous instalment.

Tekken 8 Producer Katsuhiro Harada said there was a lot of focus on the narrative between Heihachi Mishima and his son, Kazuya, in the last game. However, it seemed pretty apparent that “players kind of missed him” so a decision was made him to bring him back.

Heihachi is the third character to be added to the roster as DLC, joining Eddy Gordo – who’s been with the franchise since Tekken 3 – and Lidia Sobieska, who’s a more recent character, having joined in the seventh entry.

Despite being the biggest release on the PS Store for January, Tekken 8 has a review score of “mixed” on Steam, with some criticisms pointing to the game’s Battle pass system.

However, it doesn’t appear to have marred the overall reputation of Tekken. The first instalment was released way back in September 1994, and it’s been a mainstay of the fighting genre ever since, sitting up there with the likes of Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter.
