The short teaser trailer didn’t reveal much, with it only showing an inhabitant of one of the game’s vaults along with a tour of the underground bunker. “In Vault 76, our future begins,” the voiceover reads.

The Bethesda Fallout site only directs viewers to the Fallout 76 trailer, offering no additional information. The publisher is set to reveal more during the Bethesda E3 Showcase, which will take place during E3 2018 on June 10th.

Fans had speculated that Bethesda’s Fallout announcement, which had been teased on Twitch over the course of the past day, would revolve around a Fallout 3 or Fallout 4 remaster. However, this is a brand new entry in the post-apocalyptic franchise, though further details are slim right now.

Many have concluded that this could be a Fallout MMO, with Bethesda following in the footsteps of its The Elder Scrolls Online by producing Fallout Online. While the short teaser trailer doesn’t hint towards the game being online, it’s anyone’s guess as to what Bethesda has up its sleeve right now.

The Bethesda Twitch stream where the Fallout 76 trailer was revealed has been the subject of rampant speculation, with it being brought online yesterday and telling viewers to “Please Stand By.” The game was finally officially revealed at 10 am EST.

Fallout 4 was released back in 2015 to critical acclaim, and many will be happy to see that Bethesda has been working on a brand new Fallout game. It’s unclear if Fallout 76 will be a story-driven, single-player experience continuing the narrative of the franchise, or if it’ll be something else entirely, but we don’t have long until E3 in order to find out.
