Hitman 2 Release Date and Announce Trailer Revealed

Multiple teases and leaks later, WB Games has finally officially announced Hitman 2 (no, not that one). This game will once again follow the elusive Agent 47 on his journey to track and learn the past of the Shadow Client, improvising kills against his targets along the way. Hitman 2 will release on November 13, 2018 on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. It, unlike the last iteration, is not continuing the season trend and will not be episodic.

While the reveal trailer does not have any actual gameplay, it sets up the franchise’s signature open-ended assassinations. The game will have six different locations and promises the “biggest kills in franchise history.” It will also be the first Hitman game with co-op.

Hitman 2 also has three different versions, as most current games do. Along with the base version that just includes the game, the Silver Edition comes with the Executive Pack and the first expansion, which will feature a new location, missions, sniper map, outfits, and weapons. The Gold Edition also includes with those features but also comes with the game’s second expansion and access to the game four days early.

It’s unclear exactly what the Executive Pack is. Pre-orders for all editions will come with the co-op Sniper Assassin mode. Anyone willing to pre-order right now will get immediate access to the The Sniper Assassin mode. This mode might look similar to anyone familiar with the Sniper Challenge pre-order bonus for Hitman: Absolution.

The Sniper Assassin mode places up to two people in one stationary area as they try to scan the map and look for ways to creatively snipe their targets. It essentially boils down Hitman to its essence and makes the player execute their, well, executions from a distance. The biggest difference seems to be the new cooperative aspect but the levels are also playable for solo assassins.
