Devil May Cry 5

Devil May Cry 5 Demo is Coming to Gamescom 2018

More of Capcom’s highly-anticipated Devil May Cry 5 will be featured during the upcoming Gamescom 2018. This was revealed by the game’s director Hideaki Itsuno, alongside several story details. The sequel to 2008’s Devil May Cry 4 was officially announced at E3 2018 during the Microsoft Xbox press conference two weeks ago. There will be a playable demo of the game at Gamescom 2018.

Devil May Cry 5: Story Details Teased

As reported by IGN, Devil May Cry 5 director Hideaki Itsuno appeared in a video for Inside Xbox and spoke about the game. The upcoming game will be a direct sequel to Devil May Cry 4, taking place a few years after the events in that game. Devil May Cry 5 begins with Nero running a mobile demon hunting agency with a van, which is adorned with Dante’s iconic neon Devil May Cry sign. Dante actually gave the sign to Nero as a gift, but Itsuno says that it won’t be mentioned in the game, as it will be stated in the novelization of the game.

Itsuno also revealed that Nero’s new robotic arm is dubbed the Devil Breaker. He added that the game utilizes photorealistic graphics to make the game relevant for the current gaming generation, as well as making sure that the gameplay still retains that “tight Capcom control.” According to Itsuno, the developers wanted to try their hand at developing a new game after releasing Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition several years ago.

Gamescom 2018 will be held from 21st August to 25th August 2018 in Cologne, Germany. It looks like this year’s Gamescom will feature many exciting new games, especially after Dontnod Entertainment revealed the release date for Life is Strange 2 and promised that more information will be revealed in August. Devil May Cry 5 is set to release sometime in 2019 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC, with Capcom recently confirming that it will arrive before the end of March 2019.
