Breath of the Wild Kart

Breath of the Wild Kart Now Available in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Nintendo is no stranger to crossovers; one of their biggest series is the poster child of ambitious crossovers. Today’s new Mario Kart 8 Deluxe patch is crossing the streams with The Legend of Zelda. Update 1.6.0 brings in the Breath of the Wild kart to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, as well as Champion’s Tunic Link and a few other pieces of gear. The kart is the Master Cycle Zero motorcycle from The Champions’ Ballad, Breath of the Wild‘s second big piece of downloadable content. The Champion Tunic is also one of Link’s outfits from the same game.

Ancient Tires and Paraglider parts will also be included in the update alongside the Master Cycle Zero and Champion’s Tunic Link outfit for players that want a Zelda-centric kart. All four Breath of the Wild parts can be seen in the trailer. Link was already in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (as was a Hyrule track), but he wore his classic green tunic. Now with this update, players can entirely deck out their racer in full Breath of the Wild-accurate attire.

This news comes just a week after Nintendo promised that more content would be coming to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Nintendo also recently added Labo support to the game in June 2018, allowing racers to control their bikes and karts with the Labo Toy-Con Motorbike from the Nintendo Labo Variety Kit 01.

Nintendo released a short trailer about the update on their YouTube and Twitter pagers with no prior announcement. The console maker has not given any more concrete details on potential upcoming Mario Kart 8 Deluxe support. However, given their previous statements, it is likely that the game will see more content in the coming months. Although, the dry update release schedule and vague statements from Nintendo could mean that they are slowly moving away from the game.
