A Madden 19 Switch release date may be what the fans of the game series may be looking for, but unfortunately, it seems the only answer they’ll be getting about Madden on Nintendo Switch is a huge shake of the head from EA. At least for now.
Madden Nintendo Switch Release Date: Is Madden 19 Coming to Switch?
While FIFA 19 has already been confirmed to be making its way to the Nintendo Switch, it has been confirmed via a Gamespot interview with Madden producer Ben Haumiller that Madden 19 will not be receiving the same treatment. When Haumiller was asked about whether Madden could come to the Switch sometime in the future, he had this to say:
“We always think about every platform out there. It’s really a decision of what’s best for Madden and us as EA and where we’re going. You never rule out getting your game in front of players. You want to go where everyone is. We’d never rule it out. We just don’t have any current plans right now.”
In his interview with Gamespot, Haumiller didn’t specify any reasons why Madden 19 wouldn’t be coming to the Nintendo Switch, only that wasn’t the right decision for Madden.
We’re not ones to speculate, but considering FIFA 19 will be coming to the Nintendo Switch, we understand that some fans may be feeling more than a little confused on why one sport seems to be prioritized over the other. That said, time and patience may eventually see the game coming to the Switch in the future just as it has for games like Crash Bandicoot, etc.
However, until then, we’re sad to say that Madden 19 will not be releasing on the Nintendo Switch but can still be played by fans who own a PS4, Xbox One, and a PC. We hope that we will be able to add the Switch to ‘available platforms’ sometime in the future.
