Don’t go expecting big things from the Madden 19 1.12 update. Sure, you may baulk at the 4 GB download size, but the new Madden update is very much a case of refining the gridiron experience, not reinventing the thrill that comes with it. Small changes to Draft Day in Franchise mode, a generous helping of new player likenesses and even some pesky bug fixes are the name of the game in the Madden 19 1.12 update patch notes.
Madden 19 1.12 Patch Notes – Draft Day Changes
Draft Day is often the most important time for teams, player-controlled or otherwise. However, the AI hasn’t been keeping up its end of the bargain, routinely picking some outright terrible talent ahead of some bonafide star needs for their outfit. “Improved logic that puts a greater emphasis on team needs” is now a thing, which will please those who live and die by the Draft Day sword when it comes to spreadsheeting and the like. Validate me. I know I’m not alone on that.
What that means, in (relative) layman’s terms, is that AI won’t be stockpiling QBs and WRs they don’t need and, instead, will aim to improve crucial positions they are in need of, such as the less glamorous edge rushers and the like. A glitch has also been removed which saw players being “stuck” to the Draft Board after already being picked. Plus, as a neat little touch to add to the overall presentation, team logos are now added to the Draft Board.

Madden 19 1.12 Update – Bug Fixes
A handful of bug fixes have been pushed out, with the most notable being “ball carriers to fall down inappropriately after a broken tackle,” incorrect touchdown calls on a dropped catch and, for online play, the Offside glitch has now been dealt with, meaning you can’t use that to get the upper hand anymore.
