Star Wars Battlefront 2‘s publisher EA has continued to dish out more reveals after it dropped its huge Elite Corps update. In an official press release on EA’s website, the games company set out its plan for the title from September onwards, with plenty of new content unveiled as the autumnal months loom into view.
Kicking things off in September is the Battlefront 2 Improved Squad System. Players will finally be able to spawn in on their teammates’ positions after death, which will enable greater teamwork to take down the opposition team more efficiently. EA also plans to add in more clone trooper divisions such as the 91st Mobile Reconnaissance Corps and 104th Wolfpack Battalion. The two new squads will join the Galactic Republic’s ranks alongside the 41st Elite Corps and 327th Star Corps, which dropped on Wednesday.

October will see the introduction of prequel bad guy General Grevious. First announced back at EA Play during E3 2018, the playable hero lands in Star Wars Battlefront 2 and will join the villains in a bid to take out those of a light side persuasion. One month later in November, Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi will take up arms to counteract General Grevious. Players will also have a first chance to throw down on Geonosis, the first new prequel planet map added to Star Wars Battlefront 2 as part of this new update. The map will come equipped with three new vehicles – the STAP, BARC speeder and the AT-TE – for fans to down their foes with, and the 212th Attack clone trooper battalion.
Heading into the winter period of December and beyond, Star Wars Battlefront 2 gamers can expect to see Count Dooku, Anakin Skywalker and the 501st Legion clone troopers land too. A new, non-linear game mode will also be patched in, with two teams fighting it out to capture key areas on the map and ensure the destruction of capital ships. EA has added that more content announcements will be made in due course but, for now, Star Wars Battlefront 2 fans have plenty to look forward to.
