Overwatch League Boston Uprising Release Another Player

Overwatch League team Boston Uprising has released yet another person in their roster. DPS player Stanislav “Mistakes” Danilov has been let go by the team ahead of Season 2, much to the shock of Boston fans. Having released three other players already – Mikias “Snow” Yohannes, Connor “Avast” Prince, and Shin “Kalios” Woo-yeol – Boston now has only six players left, which is two less than the League minimum of eight.

Mistakes was a substitute for most of Stage 1 and 2 in the Overwatch League, but had to step up after the dismissal of Jonathon “Dreamkazper” Sanchez. Despite having joined the team as a Tracer main, Mistakes battled it out with some of the best Widowmakers in the League, and shocked the world with his impressive Sombra play. In his first Stage with the team, Boston Uprising went unbeaten at 10-0, being the only team to have accomplished this feat throughout all of Season 1.

Boston Uprising’s release of Mistakes, as reported by Dextero, comes alongside many other huge Overwatch League releases. Shanghai Dragons released eight of their eleven players, leaving them a whopping five players below the minimum amount. With the transfer window closing on September 9, the Dragons have quite a lot of scouting to do in the next few days. Fans of the Dragons that fan-favorite Kim “Geguri” Se-yeon is still with the team, and will likely be reprising her role as off-tank come Season 2.

Seoul Dynasty, Philadelphia Fusion, and LA Gladiators have also released three players each in the last few days. Some of these releases were very surprising, such as Philadelphia Fusion’s release of ShaDowBurn, and the Gladiators’ release of iRemiix, despite having already released their other main tank, Fissure. Seoul released Miro, Wekeed, and Gido, likely implying that their former roles will be locked down by Fissure, Munchkin, and Ryujehong, respectively.

The Houston Outlaws have also switched around their roster. The team dropped Lucas “Mendokusaii” Håkansson and Matt “Clockwork” Dias from active roles but will stay with the team to be a content creator and coach, respectively.
