Assassin's Creed Odyssey boar - How to Kill the Kalydonian Boar

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey – How to Kill the Kalydonian Boar

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is out this week, and it’s well worth your time despite its few problems such as the underpowered stealth mechanics. You won’t need stealth in the quest ‘The Daughters of Artemis” however, since it’s all about hunting a giant pig called the Kalydonian Boar. The Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Boar is, surprisingly, one of the toughest fights in the game. Don’t worry though, we’ll show you how to take this little piggy to market.

Where is The Daughters of Artemis Quest?

The Daughters of Artemis mission is given to you by Daphnae, the leader of the group. Fortunately she’s very easy to find, as she’s sitting right next to a Synchronisation spot that you need for fast travel. Make sure you get that first before you go after the Kalydonian Boar, as it’s still the closest fast travel point to it (and will be useful when you defeat it). This spot is the Temple of Artemis, which is in Phokis, in the very north-east corner of the Sacred Lands of Apollo. Talk to Daphnae there to get the quest.

How to Defeat the Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Boar

First you’ll need to find the Kalydonian Boar. It’s located directly west of the Temple of Artemis where you start, nearly to the complete opposite corner of the Sacred Lands of Apollo. You’ll have to scale a cliff, or you can head to the right and take your horse up the slope. By now the game should have pinged you to try Ikaros, and you can use your eagle to tag the exact location of the Boar. Approach it with caution.

Do not even attempt this quest if you’re lower than level 11, and actually we recommend level 13 or higher, unless you’re particularly well-equipped and skilled at the game’s combat. The giant boar will attack with charging moves and large swipes, so avoid them and spam your own special moves too.

Eventually (you didn’t think this was too easy did you?) the boar will summon four piggy friends, who are less powerful than it but still pack a punch. Plus, of course, they’ll distract you from their still-rampaging master. Pick them off while being careful to dodge and roll often, use a few special moves if you’ve got them, then focus your attention back on the Kalydonian Boar. It will do this multiple times, and it’ll start healing if you take too long killing its friends, so either finish them fast or ignore them. We advise as fast as possible.

Keep on whittling it down with dodges and special moves and it’ll be dead, but only after a really tough and prolonged battle. Then return to Daphnae with the news! She better be grateful…
