PlayStation Plus December 2018

PlayStation Plus’ Free December Games Include Soma, Onrush

PlayStation Plus‘ free offerings rolls on into the final month of the year with five new titles: two for the PS4 and three for the PlayStation 3 and Vita. These free December games will be live starting on December 4.

Soma is a sci-fi horror title from Frictional Games, who are also the creators of Amnesia: The Dark Descent. The PlayStation blog describes Soma as “an unsettling story about identity, consciousness, and what it means to be human.”

At the time of its release in 2015, Jessica Vazquez wrote in a GameRevolution review of Soma saying: “SOMA made me question everything from the possibility of needing to wear adult diapers while playing any future titles from Frictional Games to questioning my very own humanity. I have never loved being terrified more in my entire life.”

Meanwhile, Onrush looks to be a little on the happier, more action-packed side. A racing game, Onrush boasts both high-speed tracks and tons of unlockable customization options. Released this past June, our own Paul Tamburro stated in a review: “This is a light package that never reaches the heights of Evolution Studio’s previous games, but for those seeking an arcade racer offering quick thrills, it does the trick.”

PlayStation Plus also has a few new PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita titles for download next month as well. Steredenn and Steinsgate will be available on the PS3, while indie titles Iconoclasts (which you can cross buy and play on the PS4) and Papers, Please will be available on the Vita.

The PlayStation Blog also noted that for fans of  Warframe, the PlayStation Plus Booster Pack III will be available for free starting now through January 15. This pack will include 100 Platinum, 100,000 Credits, a Corpus laser rifle called Quanta, Quanta Obsidian Ski, a 7-Day Affinity Booster, and a 7-Day Credit Booster.
