40% Of Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag Will Take Place On The High Seas

Ubisoft has unveiled the latest in the Assassin's Creed series, ACIV Black Flag, and while we still don't know much about where the game takes its hero Edward Kenway, or what the Templars hope to find in the Carribean, we do know that you'll spend as much time on the high-seas as you will on land.

Speaking with Game Director Ashraf Ismail, I wondered how much of the campaign would consist of Naval missions and how much would put the player on land for now-classic Assassin's Creed combat and traversal gameplay.

"About 60% of the campaign is on land and about 40% will involve commanding your ship," Ismail explained. "Of course, naval events will pull you off the path after you set a waypoint. You could set out to a specific destination and end up losing half an hour exploring and engaging in naval gameplay."

We spoke with Ismail at length about Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag and you can learn more about the game by reading our full preview or keeping it locked to GameRevolution's Assassin's Creed tag page.
