Man, those The Division 2 pop in textures are rough, right? Whether it’s seeming low-res patterns, or just the fact that textures are taking a long time to load in The Division 2, it’s clear that something is rotten in the state of Washington D.C. It’s apparently especially worse for users on PS4 Pro, with PS4 Pro textures loading slower than perhaps its peers. So, what’s up with that and is there a The Division 2 pop in textures fix to speak of?
The Division 2 Pop In PS4 Pro Glitch | Why aren’t textures loading?
Frankly, it’s unclear. Be it a problem with the PS4 Pro in itself (though that’s unlikely) or some much-needed optimization still being required, there’s no hard and fast way to explain why there’s such bad pop in at times for The Division 2‘s textures.
Things could also be boiled down to connection issues. Be it the server load on opening week or a patchy connection on your end, both are entirely plausible reasons why there’s a serious case of pop in with The Division 2, but that doesn’t make it any more palatable. Is there anything that can be done to sort out the textures?
Is there a The Division 2 pop in texture fix?
According to Ubisoft Support Staff on its forums, there’s a couple of things you can, especially on PS4 Pro. The first (and main) potential fix is to rebuild your database and start the PS4 in Safe Mode.
To do that, you need to hold down the power button on your PS4 until you hear two beeps. Turn the console back in via your DualShock controller and select the option to “Rebuild Database.” All your data will be fine, don’t worry. However, some players are suggesting that this fix isn’t a great one.
However, it might also be a problem on your end. Rebooting your router and/or using a wired connection wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. Also, Ubi-Keo recommends clearing up a little more space on your hard drive, just in case that’s an issue.
