Google GDC Event could unveil some wild new stuff.

Google GDC event to be attended by Amy Hennig, Raph Koster, and Crystal Dynamics

The Google GDC event is almost here, and it could be full of surprises. The event, which is where Google will unveil its gaming initiatives, will be attended by veteran game developers Amy Hennig and Raph Koster along with developers from Crystal Dynamics.

Google announced the attendance of these industry veterans in a tweet earlier today. The guests will be joining the Google GDC event for a Developer Day panel on March 19 at 3 PM PT. Google’s main keynote begins at 10 AM that day where the company will reveal its plans for the future. Speculation points to the full reveal of Google’s Project Stream which saw a public test using Assassin’s Creed Odyssey in October 2018. Other rumors point to a full-blown Google gaming console, but one rumor does not negate the other. We may well see both on March 19.

In any case, Google is bringing well-respected game developers in to talk about their projects. Amy Hennig has been working in the games industry for over 30 years, directing titles like Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver and Uncharted. She most recently was working at Visceral Games on a Star Wars title before it was canceled and she left EA.

Raph Koster is known for his work as designer and director on MMOs including Ultima Online, Star Wars Galaxies, and EverQuest 2. He has been an independent designer and consultant since 2013.

Crystal Dynamics is a development studio based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The company is known for their Legacy of Kain series and recent Tomb Raider titles. Crystal Dynamics is currently developing an unnamed project for Marvel based on the Avengers. Google did not say who from the developer would be in attendance, but that hasn’t stopped the internet from thinking Crystal Dynamics is going to unveil their Avengers game. That would certainly be a way to get the attention of the public.
