QuakeCon 2019

QuakeCon 2019 announced for late July

Id Software and Bethesda have announced QuakeCon 2019, the “Year of Doom.” QuakeCon 2019 will host the largest LAN party in the world, new information about Doom Eternal, and more. The convention will run from July 25 through July 28.

QuakeCon 2019 was announced earlier today on Twitter and through the official QuakeCon website. The annual convention will be held at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas outside of Dallas. Registration for QuakeCon begin on April 11 at 10 AM ET, and tickets range from free general admission to $400 for the VIP treatment. The official language on the site reads as follows:

“How do you take the largest LAN Party in North America and make it even bigger? With a shotgun blast of DOOM!

To commemorate Doom’s 25th anniversary, our four-day event will include all-new DOOM-inspired activities, events, exclusives, developer panels, hands-on demos, new information about DOOM Eternal, and a few surprises we aren’t quite ready to talk about – all while continuing to feature everything you already love about QuakeCon. That’s right… you’ll still get Quake tournaments, exhibits, panels, updates on all the latest games from Bethesda – and, of course, a massive, round-the-clock LAN Party unlike any other.

Whether you’ve been a DOOM fan since the shareware days or you just recently became one, join us – along with the entire QuakeCon community – in celebrating at QuakeCon: Year of DOOM!”

Last year’s QuakeCon saw Doom Eternal‘s reveal with gameplay, and this year will see more of the game. Wolfenstein Youngblood, Rage 2, Quake Champions, Fallout 76, and several Elder Scrolls (Online, Blades, Legends) games will also be at the convention.

Speculation online is pining for a Quake reboot to be announced at QuakeCon this year. A number of threads are also suggesting Machine Games would be developing the reboot, similar to its recent Wolfenstein games. We’ll know once QuakeCon is upon us in July.
