It's official! Or at least it will be official in just a few hours. Gran Turismo 6 has been announced today at the Gran Turismo 15th Anniversary event as expected.
Gran Turismo 6 is coming to the PlayStation 3 this holiday season featuring 1200 cars at launch, smartphone connectivity, new tracks, and much more. There is no mention of the PS4, so expect this one to stay exclusive to the PS3.
Keeping it on PS3 makes sense. It helps the PS3 as a platform stay viable while the PS4 starts to take flight. Plus, the Gran Turismo series is even more popular in Europe, where it's likely that the PS4 won't be releasing until Q1 2014 to ensure enough supply to meet demand in the US and Japan this holiday. Releasing GT6 for the PS3 only this holiday over there will ensure that both GT6 and the console continue to sell well.
