destiny 2 shadowkeep unlock guide

Destiny 2 Shadowkeep Unlock Time | Steam release time

The Destiny 2 Shadowkeep unlock time is right around the corner, which means the highly anticipated expansion is close to release. After a long absence, it will grant players the opportunity to go back to the moon where all of the wizards are, shoot more aliens, and experience some of the big changes Bungie has in store for the game. But when can you do a low-gravity jump into that expansion? When does Destiny 2 Shadowkeep unlock on Steam, PS4, or Xbox One? It actually isn’t too far away, nor is it at a typical unlock time.

Destiny 2 Shadowkeep Unlock Time | PS4, Steam, and Xbox One release time

The Destiny 2 Shadowkeep unlock time on all of the platforms is October 1, 2019 at 10 AM PT, which is coincidentally the same time that Xur shows up every Friday and not in line with other launches that usually happen at night in that same time zone. The PSN Store, Xbox OneSteam listing all show a 10 AM PT unlock time so it is indeed the same across the board for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. This is convenient so you don’t have to worry about possible changes between platforms. Even though cross-play isn’t in the game yet, Bungie does want to include it down the line.

Of course, you’ll want to have this pre-loaded, which you can do right now. However, you’ll need quite a bit of hard drive space to do so no matter what console you play the game on. The PS4 page says the game requires 165 GB as of October 1. The Xbox One page currently says 96.45 GB and the Steam page says 105 GB. You may want to keep a hard drive handy just for Destiny 2. These sizes make the unreleased Stadia version a little more feasible for some. Even though it isn’t out yet, that version shouldn’t need nearly as much hard drive space since it will be streaming right to your device.
