Fix Modern Warfare Dev Error 6165
Some players reported that they were able to fix the error and errors like it by adjusting certain graphical settings, particularly related to their PC monitors. User Rodancheg said they encountered Dev Error 6165 when playing on a 2K monitor in 2K resolution, and they were able to bypass the error by switching to full HD resolution. User UltraMadBoomer said they received a different Dev Error, 6606, and were able to solve it by disabling their second monitor. These fixes suggest Dev Errors like this could be related to display settings.
It seems the most reliable fix, however, is simply to uninstall and reinstall the game. Several users in that same Reddit thread report bypassing the error by doing so, including user Shodan57, who said they also reinstalled their graphical drivers in the process. Given Modern Warfare’s large download size, this could take quite a while, but it seems to be the most consistently successful error fix.
