Destiny 2 Izanagi's Burden bug fix _ Is the quest still broken_

Destiny 2 Izanagi’s Burden Bug Fix | Is the quest still broken?

With Destiny 2: Shadowkeep’s nerf of the game’s auto-loading mechanics, players have been flocking to the powerful Izanagi’s Burden exotic sniper as one of Destiny 2’s new damage per second kings. Unfortunately for new players looking to get the gun, it turns out the real burden is the Izanagi’s Burden weapon quest, which has been continually bugged for more than a month. Bungie’s latest patch, Destiny 2 update 2.6.1.1, introduced a supposed fix for one part of the quest, but players are still having problems. There appears to be a temporary Destiny 2 Izanagi’s Burden bug fix, however, so we’ll walk you through what’s broken and the possible workaround.

While Bungie’s 2.6.1.1 update fixed an issue that caused Forge Keys to not count towards the Izanagi’s Burden Mysterious Box quest, it appears to have failed to fix an older bug. Players on Reddit report that characters who have not already picked up the Key Mold quest item from Ada-1 can’t receive it. Bungie supposedly fixed this issue in Destiny 2 patch 2.6.1, the update prior to 2.6.1.1, but that patch introduced the “Forge Keys not counting” bug fixed in today’s update. This means players like Reddit user Sethraliss who are further along in the quest can successfully complete it and receive Izanagi’s Burden, but those who have yet to receive the Key Mold from Ada-1 can’t even begin to create the Forge Keys which have now been patched to count towards the quest’s progress.

It appears the reason players can’t pick up the Key Mold, according to Reddit user bbarber4, is that the Izanagi’s Burden Key Mold has been mistakenly made an account-bound quest, meaning it’s only obtainable on one character. This effectively halts progress for players who have completed certain steps of the quest on a different characters. According to Reddit user TheSpiderWithScales, affected players may be able to work around this issue by speaking to Ada-1 with the character they first spoke to her with. When this is done, she will apparently give that character the Key Mold. Still, this means lost progress and more waiting for players who have completed other steps of the quest on other characters.
