The Pokemon Company, Niantic, and Nintendo are treating Pokemon Go players right this February, having crammed the shortest month of the year with several exciting new events and activities. One such addition is the Pokemon Go Sinnoh region celebration event, which will recognize the fourth generation of Pokemon (Diamond and Pearl) that originate from the event’s eponymous Sinnoh region.

Pokemon Go‘s celebratory Sinnoh region event is set to begin on Friday, February 7, 2020, at 8:00 am local time.

The Pokemon Go Sinnoh region celebration event will conclude Monday, February 10, 2020, at 10:00 pm local time.

In total, the short weekend event will be run across four days (February 7 to February 10) and comprise 86 hours of total playtime.

During the Sinnoh region celebration Pokemon Go event, Pokemon that were originally discovered throughout the Sinnoh region (introduced in fourth-generation titles) are more likely to appear in the wild and in raids.

Any 7 km Eggs obtained during the event are guaranteed to hatch specific Pokemon from the Sinnoh region, including the following:

  • Budew
  • Combee
  • Bronzor
  • Gible
  • Riolu
  • Hippopotas
  • Mantyke

Not only that, but completing Field Research tasks specific to the event will reward encounters with other Pokemon from this “beautiful” region, along with Sinnoh Stones that can be used to make certain Pokemon evolve.

Lastly, the official Pokemon Go blog post detailing the event notes that “if you’re lucky” it’s possible to encounter and capture a rare Shiny Riolu or a Shiny Hippopotas during the Sinnoh region celebration.
