WhatsApp Dark Mode on iOS 13 and WhatsApp Dark Mode on Android 10 is here, allowing users utilizing both operating systems to change modes on the messaging service.

The new mode has been heavily rumored for a while now, but it has finally launched on both iOS 13 and Android 10 devices. As such, make sure you’re fully updated to the latest version of your device’s operating system, while also ensuring that your WhatsApp app has also received its latest settings.

How to enable WhatsApp Dark Mode on iOS 13 and Android 10

iOS 13 and Android 10 have both received the new Dark Mode, but Android users are finding the mode more difficult to access with their operating system. Here are the instructions for both OS:

Turn on WhatsApp Dark Mode on Android 10

Here are the steps you need to follow in order to turn on WhatsApp Dark Mode on devices running Android 10:

Open the WhatsApp app
Tap on the menu icon (the three vertical dots in the upper right corner)
Go to Settings
Go to Chats
Select Dark Theme

Users should also theoretically be able to automatically switch to Dark Mode via their device’s settings, which should change the overall theme of the app if they are using Dark Mode on their device. To do this, access your dropdown menu on your Android device, select Dark Mode or Night Mode and then navigate back over to WhatsApp.

Some users are reporting that either the above Dark Theme isn’t available for them to select in WhatsApp’s settings, or that Dark Mode isn’t available in WhatsApp even after selecting it in their device’s settings. It seems that the mode hasn’t rolled out across all Android devices or across all regions, so hopefully there should be an update rectifying this sooner rather than later.
