Cyberpunk 2077 is out now across a variety of platforms, which has some users wondering if they can all play together. With CD Projekt RED’s new RPG available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia cross-platform multiplayer support would help to unite the playerbase. Is there Cyberpunk 2077 cross-play, though? Here’s the latest where playing online with friends is concerned.
Does Cyberpunk 2077 have cross-platform multiplayer?
Cyberpunk has been topping gamers’ most anticipated lists for several years now. As a result, it’s only natural that a lot of people want to share the experience with friends in online multiplayer. So, is it possible for users that own Cyberpunk 2077 on different platforms to play together?
Cyberpunk is getting a standalone multiplayer component in 2022 or later. It will allow players to cooperate with and compete against others online. Currently, developer CDPR has not announced whether or not Cyberpunk 2077 cross-play support will be implemented in the multiplayer modes. If there is a cross-platform feature, it will likely be announced closer to the multiplayer release date.
Unfortunately, there is no Cyberpunk 2077 MP support at launch. This means that users can’t play multiplayer together, regardless of what platform they own the game on.
Does Cyberpunk 2077 have cross-progression?
Cyberpunk 2077 is a massive game, so, naturally, users are looking to retain all of the progress made throughout the adventure. At present, players that own the sprawling RPG on multiple platforms can not utilize cross-progression to share and carry progress over. CDPR included this helpful feature in the Nintendo Switch version of The Witcher 3, so it is possible that a Cyberpunk 2077 cross-progression update could arrive in the future.
It’s currently unknown whether the standalone Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer experience will feature cross-progression when it launches in 2022 or beyond.
