Tiny Tina's Wonderlands Trailer Announcement E3 2021

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands trailer revealed at Summer Game Fest E3 2021

Wonderlands was revealed during today’s Summer Game Fest Kickoff. This Borderlands spinoff stars fan-favorite character Tiny Tina. Given the success of Borderlands 3, it’s not surprising that Gearbox is expanding the franchise further. However, this game won’t pick up where Borderlands 3 left off, instead opting to go its own way.

As opposed to being an extension of Borderlands, this is being poised as a separate universe that puts a fantasy spin on the looter-shooter formula. That means we’ll likely see characters from Borderlands, but they won’t necessarily have the same connections. This gives Gearbox the freedom to do some real zany stuff without being chained to the very loose established lore.

There had been some speculation about this game over the past half year after it was discovered that “Wonderlands” and “Tiny Tina’s Wonderland” were trademarked with EUIPO on December 4, 2020. However, 2K and Gearbox were able to keep the game itself under wraps.

Wonderlands was teased earlier this week with the launch of “bechaoticgreat.com.” There was a countdown to the Summer Game Fest Kickoff on the site, and fans discovered that it also contained code referring to an unlaunched website, “playwonderlands.2k.com.” Due to this, viewers were able to figure out that Wonderlands would be revealed at Summer Game Fest, and here we are.

The official site has now launched, though all it points to currently is the trailer and a newsletter sign-up. However, Ashly Burch mentioned additional info being added to the page, so those interested should check back soon.

The platforms the game will be released on weren’t revealed, but we do have a rough launch window of early 2022. We can assume it’ll at least come to PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5, but we don’t know if it’ll be cross-generational or not yet.
