The hype surrounding Halo Infinite is building, with lucky players currently playing the technical test. This preview build is available to PC and Xbox players, but not PlayStation owners. This may lead some to believe that the new Halo game won’t be coming to PS5 or PS4. For those confused about the potential exclusivity, here’s the full need-to-know info on a Halo Infinite PS5 release date and the definitive answer on whether or not it’s coming to PlayStation hardware.
Is Halo Infinite coming to PS5 and PS4?
Halo Infinite is coming to PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. Sadly, for PlayStation owners, the new Halo game is not coming to PS5 or PS4.
This means that there is no Halo Infinite PS5 release date. As an Xbox Game Studios title, it’s expected that Halo Infinite will remain a PC/Xbox exclusive and will never launch on PlayStation hardware.
While this will be unsurprising to anyone familiar with the Halo franchise or Xbox exclusives in general, console newcomers may not yet know about the various exclusives available to each platform. Halo remains an Xbox exclusive, though PC players will be able to enjoy it from day one.
Those disappointed at Halo Infinite not coming to PS5 may want to focus on some of the Sony exclusives that only PlayStation owners can enjoy. These include Marvel’s Spider-Man, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, Demon’s Souls, and Ghost of Tsushima. Hopefully some of those titles can help fill the void that Halo Infinite has left!
