Road 96 is what happens when a Telltale-style narrative adventure game meets the structure of a roguelike. It’s a unique idea that sticks the landing, making it an exciting prospect for PC and Nintendo Switch users. But, what about Road 96 PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One versions? Will Digixart’s latest come to additional console platforms? Here’s the latest information.
Is a Road 96 PS5 and PS4 version coming out?
Road 96 is launching on August 16, 2021, for PC and Nintendo Switch. There isn’t a Road 96 PS5 and PS4 release date at this time.
Should the innovative procedural adventure game prove successful, it’s possible that a Road 96 PlayStation port will happen in the future. Developer Digixart’s last project, 11-11: Memories Retold, came out for PS4 back in 2018. That game had the backing of Bandai Namco as its publisher, whereas Road 96 is a self-published independent title. Keeping this in mind, the team might need to see a return on its initial investment before committing to Road 96 PS4 and PS5 ports.
Is a Road 96 Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One version coming out?
Digixart is yet to announce a Road 96 Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One release date. The game is currently available for PC and Nintendo Switch, following its August 16, 2021 launch.
Although there are seemingly no current plans regarding a Road 96 Xbox port, it could be a possibility in the future. The developer previously brought 11-11: Memories Retold to Xbox One, so already has experience with the platform. While that game had the backing of both Aardman Animations and Bandai Namco, Road 96 is an independent project. As a result, the team may need to see a return on the initial versions in order to greenlight additional ports.
In other news, DC’s The Batman could carry a PG-13 rating. Over in the Disney camp, Star Wars: The Bad Batch recently aired its finale — here’s the verdict. Marvel’s Avengers finally looks poised to get the long-awaited Spider-Man playable character, too.
