Is it possible fans now know the Marvel’s Avengers Spider-Man DLC release date? The Avengers Spider-Man PS4 and PS5 release was announced months before the game itself launched last year, but there has never been formal confirmation from the developers or Square Enix about when the Sony-exclusive DLC would actually be coming out. Now, however, it looks like the wait may soon be over — so when is Spider-Man coming to Marvel’s Avengers?
What is the Marvel’s Avengers Spider-Man DLC release date?
The Marvel’s Avengers Spider-Man DLC release date period is 2021.
Avengers developer Crystal Dynamics has stated that the Spider-Man DLC for Marvel’s Avengers will release in the next few months. Unless the deal has changed, Spider-Man will still release exclusively for PS4 and PS5 when it does come out.
In a recent interview with ComingSoon.net, senior game designer Scott Walters spoke about the long-delayed Spider-Man DLC and when fans can expect to see the popular Marvel hero in the game at last. While the team’s focus is on the War For Wakanda expansion and Black Panther DLC release, which comes out in just a few days’ time on August 17, Walters confirmed that “we’ve always planned to have [Spider-Man] be a 2021 release and we’re still on track for that.” The designer also said that Square Enix would “have more news coming forward later.”
This is certainly good news for PS4 and PS5-owning Marvel’s Avengers fans who have been patiently and not-so-patiently awaiting Spider-Man’s release, although it’ll further upset Xbox and PC Avengers players if the DLC doesn’t come with some sort of bone for them too. One thing’s for sure though, this won’t be the same Spider-Man seen in the Insomniac game as Avengers is in a separate universe.
Our reviewer felt that Marvel’s Avengers had a lot of promise, but called it “an identity crisis of a game.” Check out that review right here.
