Fans of the PS5-exclusive Spider-Man 2 will be pleased to know that the next big update for the game is coming soon. Developer Insomniac has said players can expect new features to start rolling out next year.
New Game+ and more
While there’s no specific date yet, the studio has reassured everyone that the “next game update” for Spider-Man 2 is on target for an “early 2024” release. As for what specifically is on the way, it seems as though the team has been listening to what the players want.
A post on Twitter/X says the developer is aware that fans have been “eagerly awaiting” such features as New Game + and Audio Descriptions, so it stands to reason these will be in the next update.
There have been some other “highly requested features,” such as the ability to change the time of day and replay missions, which the team will also be adding to the game. And there’s more where that came from.
For now, the message says that Insomniac will be able to share a “feature-complete list” closer to the patch’s release date. The fact that it’s coming early next year suggests there won’t be long to wait until it starts rolling it, so hopefully details will be forthcoming soon.
As for the game itself, Spider-Man 2 was met with high praise when it was released in October. While it didn’t walk away with any trophies at this year’s Game Awards, it was nominated for a number of categories, including Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, Best Audio Design, and Game of the Year.
