Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live Gold members can now try NBA 2K22 and NASCAR 21: Ignition for free as part of the Xbox Free Play Days. The two sports games are available to try in their entirety from 12:01 AM PT today, February 17, until the Free Play period ends at 11:59 PM PT on February 20.
What modes are available during the Free Play Days?
During the Free Play Days, all online and offline modes are available in NBA 2K22 and NASCAR 21: Ignition but no DLC. In NBA 2K22 this includes the MyCareer campaign mode, the MyTeam collectible card mode, MyNBA that gives players a chance at running their own team, and online modes that can be played with friends. For NASCAR 21: Ignition this is the Career mode, Online Multiplayer modes, and the Race Now mode that lets players drop into a race wherever they like. There’s even the opportunity to unlock achievements.
Any progress made during the weekend will be transferred to the full version of the game whenever you decide to make a purchase. Both games are on sale throughout the Free Play period. For NBA 2K22, the standard edition is now 67% off. For Xbox One this has discounted the game to $19.79 while Xbox Series X|S players will be paying $23.09. The 75th Anniversary Edition that includes the game for both consoles has been discounted by 50% to $49.99. Meanwhile, both the standard and Champions Editions of NASCAR 21 have been discounted by 40%. These are $35.99 and $53.99 respectively. The Season Pass is also on sale at 20% of for $23.99.
In other news, players can now register for the Nintendo Switch Sports online play test that begins tomorrow, February 18. Players must have an active Nintendo Switch Online membership to be able to join in. Elsewhere, Nintendo has also confirmed the Nintendo eShop will be closed for the Wii U and 3DS towards the end of March 2023.
