Halo Infinite’s Multiplayer Lead Leaves 343 Industries

The lead multiplayer designer on Halo Infinite is leaving 343 Industries. Andrew Witts says he will take some time off to “relax and recharge” before his next endeavor. Infinite was Witts’ first Halo title, having joined the Xbox Game Studio in February 2019. In a statement released on Twitter, Witts said:

“Today was my last day at 343 Industries. It’s been an honor leading the MP design team over these years. Thank you to all @Halo fans for your feedback over the years. We made this game for you.”

What did Halo Infinite’s multiplayer lead work on at 343?

In his bio on Linkedin, the Halo Infinite multiplayer lead says he was responsible for leading “the multiplayer design team in the development of all game modes and systems.” Among other responsibilities, he also worked ” with production and other Multiplayer leads to ensure that all Free to Play product features have clear direction and ownership.”

Before joining 343 Industries, Witts was a combat design lead at ArenaNet. He was also a game designer at Ubisoft, working on Rainbow Six Siege. The designer has also worked at Boss Key Productions before his time at Microsoft began.

343 Industries recently announced they are delaying the launch of the Forge mode and the co-op campaign. The company says they have done this to “land a high-quality, full-featured 4-player network co-op experience in the massive, wide-open world of Halo Infinite. A date of May 3 was given to the co-op campaign — the start of season two. In a blog post, the developers said they hope to deliver a release date “later in season 2.”.Despite the delay, 343 Industries have reassured fans that development on Forge and co-op campaign is going “great” and work has been continuing in adding in alongside season two.
