Gran Turismo 7 has managed to stay on the top spot in the UK Top 40 boxed games chart for the third week in a row. The racer managed to beat out the likes of Elden Ring and WWE 2K22 to remain at number one, although these figures don’t include any digital sales and only take into account physical copies bought at retail outlets.
The entire UK Sales Charts for the last week
Sony’s new racing game has now topped the UK charts for three weeks across PS5 and PS4. WW2 2K22 dropped from second place to third, while Elden Ring regained the number two spot that it lost last week. Nintendo had a strong week with Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury following the top three. According to Ukie, Horizon Forbidden West, Strange of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, Pokémon Shining Pearl, and Five Nights At Freddy’s: Security Breach rounded out the top 10.
Gran Turismo 7 has had something of a tough time since releasing earlier this month. Following plenty of fan feedback and criticism, some users have begun review bombing the game on Metacritic. Despite having a high critic score and positive reviews, the user score has received thousands of negative submissions. This has dropped the rating down to 2/10 and put it firmly in the red, with most of the comments suggesting the negative ratings are due to the limited offline mode and microtransactions. Yet, it doesn’t seem to have affected the number of people buying the game going by its position in the charts.
In other racing news, several Mario Kart 8 DLC tracks have been leaked online, while Xbox users who are Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will get the chance to watch the highly anticipated Halo TV series with a free Paramount Plus trial as a free perk.
