The One Piece episode 1020 release date and time on Crunchyroll have been uncovered, particularly for the original Japanese language version that has English subtitles. In what is a normal practice for the streaming service, this upcoming episode will air simulcast so that the international fanbase can continue to watch the skirmish between Kaido and The Straw Hat Pirates.
Recent events leading up to Episode 1020, which has the title “Sanji Screams! SOS Echoing Throughout the Island,” have had Luffy attempt to deal the killing blow on Kaido’s dragon form. In what seemed to be at least a two-minute gatling barrage of punches, Luffy landed a crazy amount of blows directly on the dragon’s face. But since he can only sustain his iron-ball form for about ten minutes, Luffy becomes extremely exhausted and gets himself swallowed by Kaido after the dragon invokes a tornado that blows away most of the Straw Hat Pirates. Fortunately, Zoro is able to cut through the dragon’s scales using Oden’s sword and save his friend, but then Kaido finally reveals his Man-Beast Form while Luffy is in a weakened state.

Though Crunchyroll is now known for blocking free users from accessing the latest seasons of various anime, One Piece currently has no such restrictions. That’s a smart move given how popular it is. In fact, all seasons of One Piece are available on the streaming service without a premium paywall in case you wanted to watch the current season or (*gulp*) start from the beginning.
What is the One Piece episode 1020 English dub release date?
Sadly, the situation with the English dubbing is still frustrating. We suspect that the merger between Crunchyroll and Funimation has not gone smoothly behind the scenes when it comes to One Piece. The last known episode English language version was episode 794 on Funimation, and we haven’t heard from either service as to if the English dubbing been discontinued or if we’re waiting for the bulk of those episodes to be being moved to Crunchyroll before anything happens. We’ll continue to keep our ears close to the ground for any updates.
