Outriders Worldslayer Server Issues

Outriders Server Status Shows Issues Due to Worldslayer DLC Early Access Launch

Outriders Worldslayer has launched today for players who had early access, but this has caused several server issues after a lot of players are trying to log in at the same time to investigate the new content. The game’s servers have been showing degraded performance since the update after login congestion caused issues with its multiplayer server status and core components.

Launching Worldslayer into early access

Outriders Worldslayer launched into early access today, June 28, 2022, following maintenance and the application of Update 1.2.0., although this was followed by server issues. Since the launch, players have faced login congestion following the need for some players to “acquire some one-off “initial sign-in” files and data-tables.” According to the latest Twitter update, People Can Fly is still “working closely with our infrastructure partners to identify any bottlenecks with the connectivity and resolve them.” Neither Square Enix nor People Can Fly have released patch notes for the update, but an earlier overview did describe the following changes for all players:

  • Implementation of Apocalypse Tiers up to Tier 15.
    • These replace Challenge Tiers, but can be applied to the story campaign (instead of applying World Tiers to the story campaign). This will allow you to play through the story campaign on difficulty tiers that can match your current progression.
    • You will likely notice some changes in the difficulty of expeditions as well, as Apocalypse Tiers are slightly different to their equivalent Challenge Tiers during these levels.
  • Balancing changes for gear and mods.
    • These are explained more in depth in the “Worldslayer Balancing” thread, but you will be playing with the same balancing data tables as Worldslayer players. Upgrading to Worldslayer will not change your balancing, but it will grant you access to all new Worldslayer gear and mods, including Apocalypse Gear.
  • Various bug fixes.
  • Performance and networking optimizations.

Worldslayer can be purchased now at a price of $39.99 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One, although access for players who hadn’t pre-ordered the DLC will not be available until June 30. The Worldslayer expansion won’t be available for free to Xbox Game Pass players, although those with a Xbox Live Gold or Game Pass Ultimate membership can save $4 and grab the DLC for $35.99. This latter price is also available to Steam players and those with a PlayStation Plus membership.

In other gaming news, next month’s Xbox Games With Gold include Relicta and Torchlight. Elsewhere, hopes for an Elden Ring DLC announcement today were soon squashed by another live-action accolades trailer.
