Quordle Answer 159

Quordle Answer 159: July 2, 2022 Word Solution

The Quordle 159 answer for July 2, 2022 has been revealed for a puzzle that has one word with an extremely rare triple letter. More than that, two other words have a double letter, one a vowel and the other a consonant. Collectively, the solution also features words that are on the more unusual side and may take a while to figure out. Considering all of this, the overall difficulty is about medium-high. As a hint for this puzzle, we think that just saying one of the words has a triple-letter is good enough; if we tell you which word it is, that might be too much of a tell. That said, if you need the entire answer, it’s been placed in the next section.

Quordle Answer 159

The Quordle answer 159 is:

  • “APNEA”
  • “TITAN”
  • “NINNY”
  • “GAUNT”

“NINNY” is not only rare because it has three “N” consonants, but because it’s not used often in the States. (Our UK staff might be looking at me like this is the most common word ever.) You might have heard the word in something like Harry Potter, as it’s informal slang in the UK to mean a foolish person. The word can also boil down to the “?INNY” construction that has a fair number of possibilities for the missing letter: “F,” “G,” “H,” “L,” ‘M,” “N,” “P,” and “T.” Midway through the puzzle, we chose to input the word “FRUMP” just to narrow it down, though we knew that it wasn’t one of the words in the answer.

“APNEA” is also fairly challenging due to the double “A” vowel and for being difficult to decipher. There aren’t a lot of other five-letter words like it and the uncommon “P” consonant might throw you a bit. “GAUNT” was the first word we solved, though we did risk it not being “TAUNT.” Meanwhile, “TITAN” does have a double “T” consonant so that might trip you up too, though “TI?AN” and “?ITAN” don’t have many solutions except for the another “T.”

In other news, Skull and Bones will release in November but it seems like it will launch with problems, and Persona and Pac-Man were some of the best bits from yesterday’s Nintendo Direct Mini.
