The Daimyo Hermitaur is the first new creature you meet in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, and it’s a fairly challenging foe. With a hard shell protecting its hindquarters, you’ll want to find the Hermitaur’s weaknesses quickly. You’ll also want to make a note of what material it drops as the Hermitaur Set is an excellent starter Master Rank armor set for Gunlance, Light Bowgun, and Heavy Bowgun users.
Monster Hunter Rise Daimyo Hermitaur Weaknesses

Daimyo Hermitaur Elemental Weaknesses
The Mdaimyo Hermitaur is most vulnerable to Thunder and Fire and takes increased damage from Ice. However, it’s completely immune to Dragon and Water elemental attacks. It can also be poisoned, which will cause damage over time.
- Super Effective: Thunder, Fire
- Effective: Ice
- No Damage: Dragon, Water
- Status Weakness: Poison
Daimyo Hermitaur Weakpoint
Blunt weapons work best against the Hermitaur, and you’ll maximize damage if you attack it in the head, torso, and arms. However, to get a good shot at its torso, you need to break its shell, which can be a frustrating process. When I fought it, I just stuck to its sides and prepared to dodge when needed and didn’t find it to be too tough.
