Hypercharge: Unboxed Xbox release date abuse

Hypercharge: Unboxed Calls Out Fans Toxic Abuse Over Xbox Release Date

Gamer behavior has once again been questioned after the developer of the upcoming Xbox game Hypercharge: Unboxed had to plead with fans not to hurl abuse at them over a lack of release date. The plea came shortly after God of War Ragnarok developer Santa Monica Studio also had to call out similar poor behavior after an expected reveal event was postponed at the last minute.

Hypercharge: Unboxed does not have an Xbox release date yet

There are two main reasons why developer Digital Cybercherries has not yet announced an Xbox release date for Hypercharge: Unboxed according to a message from Joe, who is their entire marketing department, neither of which warrant any abuse. The first is that “we don’t have one”. The second is that they’re “not a big team” of just five developers and making the best possible version of Hypercharge “takes time”. They have promised to announce a release date “once we are comfortable with where we are in development and with our marketing.” This hasn’t stopped fans from engaging in abusive behavior. Joe has been on the receiving end of “threats, abusive, toxic, foul-mouthed messages demanding an answer for a release date.” As such, he released a statement pleading with those players to stop their vile behavior:

Hypercharge: Unboxed is a wave-based shooter with tower defense influences that is inspired by Toy Story and Small Soldiers. Players take on the role of action figures led by Sgt. Max Ammo who are sent to protect the Hyper-Core and stop it from being destroyed. The mission can be taken on in co-op for up to four players or in single-player with AI companions. There are also classic PvP modes. The game is currently available on Steam and Nintendo Switch and will be coming to Xbox in the future.
