Tokyo Mew Mew New Episode 2 Release Date and Time

Tokyo Mew Mew New Episode 2 Release Date and Time on Hidive

After a fantastic debut, fans are ready for the Tokyo Mew Mew New episode 2 release date and time. However, like with many anime, it’s hard to tell when each episode is coming out. This is especially true since the English streamer, Hidive, doesn’t even have the anime on its schedule. Fortunately, we were able to sleuth out the Tokyo Mew Mew New sub air date and when it airs in Japan.

The English sub Tokyo Mew Mew New episode release date and time is July 12, 2022, at noon Eastern Daylight Time. In other timezones, it’s:

  • Pacific Daylight Time: 9 a.m.
  • Mountain Daylight Time: 10 a.m.
  • Central Daylight Time: 11 a.m.
  • British Summer Time: 5 p.m.

Surprisingly, the subbed version of Tokyo Mew Mew New premieres on Hidive 12 hours before the show is released in Japan. If you live there, you won’t be able to watch it until July 13 at midnight on TV Aichi.

The first episode saw Ichigo Momomiya, a normal high school girl pining over the popular Masaya Aomiya. She manages to score a date with him to an exhibit on endangered species thanks to a mysterious benefactor. However, things go awry when the exhibit is attacked. Ichigo finds herself transformed into a magical cat girl, and she has to fight a giant mutant rat controlled by an alien. The episode concludes with her entering the Mew Mew Cafe for the first time.

So far, there’s been no announcement that Tokyo Mew Mew New is being dubbed into English. The series has a dubious history with being translated into English as it was one of the series that 4Kids licensed in the early 2000s. Like many others, it was extensively changed during its localization, and only the first 23 episodes were released.

The fact that Hidive licensed the series also works against it. It doesn’t have the vast resources that Crunchyroll and Funimation do, so unless an external studio does the voice work, it’ll probably remain sub-only.
