PS Plus vs Xbox Game Pass is a battle that’s become much more interesting following the overhaul of Sony’s subscription service. With the improvements now fully implemented, the PlayStation service is steadily increasing the number of games being added to its service, in a similar way to how Xbox combines its Game Pass and Games With Gold arsenals. So which is the best lineup for August 2022? Here’s a rundown of what the new games are and how they compare.
PS Plus August 2022 Games
- Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 (PS5, PS4)
- Yakuza: Like A Dragon (PS5, PS4)
- Little Nightmares (PS4)
It’s worth noting that the above games are included with all PlayStation Plus tiers, meaning Essential, Extra, and Premium subscribers will gain access to those games. Additional games will be announced during August for those with Extra and Premium memberships.
Xbox Game Pass August 2022 Games
- Turbo Golf Racing (Xbox, PC)
- Two Point Campus (Xbox, PC)
- Midnight Fight Express (Xbox, PC)
- Immortality (Xbox, PC)
The above games will be joining Xbox Game Pass throughout August. There will be an additional two (or more) games being announced and coming to Game Pass that month as well, but these aren’t currently known.
In addition to the Xbox Game Pass games, there are Games With Gold titles that subscribers may want to check out:
- Calico
- ScourgeBringer
- Saint’s Row 2
- Monaco: What’s Yours is Mine
PS Plus vs Xbox Game Pass: August 2022: Which is the winner?
Though it only has three confirmed titles for August 2022, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is a huge win for PS Plus subscribers. Yakuza: Like a Dragon and Little Nightmares aren’t to be sniffed at, either.
While PlayStation has some quality titles, it’s Xbox that boasts quantity and coverage across multiple genres. Personal highlights include Calico on Games With Gold and Two Point Campus on Game Pass.
Who the “winner” is largely comes down to whether or not you already own Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2. If you don’t, then PS Plus for August 2022 has a killer offering. If you do, those fresh new titles from Xbox sure look good.
