GTA 6 Leaker Allegedly Sold GTA 5 Source Code Before Being Arrested

The hacker responsible for the huge GTA 6 leak allegedly sold the source code for GTA 5 before he was arrested, it has been claimed. New evidence has suggested that the hacker — who was reportedly arrested in the U.K. earlier this month (via PlayStation LifeStyle) — had sold the source code to a buyer before police managed to track them down.

GTA 5 source code allegedly sold via Telegram

The hacker — operating under the pseudonym ‘teapot’ — reportedly sold the GTA 5 source code through a Telegram messaging group (via Reddit). The admin of the group claimed that on the day the GTA 6 leak took place, the GTA 5 source code was sold. A censored screenshot of this the source code being sold on Telegram was revealed, with the user who reportedly bought it allegedly still listing it for sale.

Given that the screenshot is censored, it’s difficult to tell if this is legitimate and if the GTA 5 source code has really exchanged hands. However, with police having already arrested the 17-year-old responsible for the hack, it’s certain that they will seek to track down those who have come into contact with the materials they obtained.

The hacker’s arrest was confirmed by The City of London Police, who also revealed that he had been previously arrested and violated his bail conditions (via PlayStation LifeStyle). Additional arrests are expected.
