Rockstar announces GTA 6 trailer

GTA 6 Trailer Coming December 5

Rockstar recently confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6’s first trailer launches on December 5, two days before The Game Awards. Technically the eighth mainline GTA game, most of what fans know about it came from leaks rather than official statements. Even the name Grand Theft Auto 6 came from a leak, as Rockstar Games hasn’t officially revealed its title.

Rockstar Games confirms the date and time for the new GTA 6 trailer

Rockstar announced the trailer on November 8 but only said it was coming “in early December.” The company finally released a follow-up tweet on December 1 that confirmed the exact time and date. Fans can check out the new trailer at 9:00 AM Eastern/6:00 AM Pacific on December 5. The tweet doesn’t specify where they can go to watch the trailer. However, Rockstar will presumably upload it to the studio’s official YouTube channel.

As Rockstar mentioned in November, the GTA trailer roughly coincides with its 25th anniversary. Take-Two founded the company in December 1998 to serve as its “high-end” publishing label. It is, of course, best known for the wildly successful Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead series. However, its studios also developed the Max Payne, Manhunt, and Midnight Club games.

Based on past leaks, the upcoming GTA 6 will primarily occur in the Miami-inspired Vice City, with some parts set in South America. While GTA: Vice City took place in the 1980s, the new game depicts it in the modern day. Its story is reportedly inspired by Bonnie and Clyde and features two protagonists named Lucia and Jason. This makes it the first mainline GTA to feature a female player character since the original Grand Theft Auto in 1997.
