With the superhero movie set to launch in the US on October 21, a Black Adam Henry Cavill Superman cameo may have just been confirmed by a prominent leaker. The return of Henry Cavill’s Superman to the DCEU for the first time since Zack Snyder’s Justice League has long been rumored, but a Black Adam Superman post-credits scene could finally see it happen — if the latest rumor is correct.
Black Adam and Superman post-credits scene possibly confirmed
According to the prominent leaker MyTimeToShineHello, Henry Cavill is playing Superman in Black Adam once again opposite Dwayne Johnson as Teth-Adam. While Zack Snyder’s Justice League featured Superman in a black suit appropriate to the storyline it was referencing, Cavill is reportedly wearing the classic blue and red Superman outfit seen in Man of Steel and Batman V Superman.
Perhaps more surprising is that MyTimeToShineHello reports that Superman will be accompanied by the classic ’70s John Williams theme tune as opposed to the DCEU’s Hans Zimmer score. It’s not the first time this exact thing has been rumored, either, as other leakers have previously stated the same thing.
Superman is not the first major DC character rumored to appear in Black Adam. It was reported back in December that Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) would appear in the movie and capture Black Adam. This was recently proven correct by the latest Black Adam trailer.
There is precedent for this. Black Adam is a spin-off of Shazam, and the Shazam movie features a Superman cameo. The League of Super-Pets animated movie, which features the voice of Dwayne Johnson as Krypto the super-dog, came out this year and features a post-credits scene with Superman meeting Johnson’s Black Adam. That movie and Black Adam were originally supposed to release much closer together, so it could be a deliberate tease.
Black Adam releases on October 21, so fans won’t have long to wait to discover if this rumor is correct.
