Finding the best magnum in Resident Evil 4 remake will help you to make the most use of its rare ammo. These weapons are best reserved for strong enemies and bosses and can make normally tough fights comically easy.
Note there are only two magnums in the base game. We’ll only be taking these into account since you can only get the best rank on a “first playthrough,” which makes the unlockable Handcannon irrelevant.
Resident Evil 4 remake Best Magnum Overall: Broken Butterfly
- Power: 27.0 (Max: 40.5)
- Ammo Capacity: 10
- Reload Speed: 0.86
- Rate of Fire: 1.33
- Precision: 2.00
- Exclusive Upgrade: 1.5x Power
- Bonus: Penetration Power
The fully upgraded Broken Butterfly is the best magnum overall in Resident Evil 4 remake. When fully upgraded, it has the highest power rating in the game outside of the explosive weapons. However, it has poor accuracy and given how rare Magnum Ammo is, that’s a major weakness. Nevertheless, this is the best weapon to use if you’re looking to make short work of bosses.

Best Magnum for Critical Hits: Killer7
- Power: 28.0
- Ammo Capacity: 15
- Reload Speed: 1.40
- Rate of Fire: 1.16
- Precision: 2.50
- Exclusive Upgrade: 5x Critical Hit Rate
- Bonus: Penetration Power
The Killer7 has the potential to be a better magnum than the Broken Butterfly if you’re a good shot. Its exclusive upgrade gives you five times the likelihood of scoring a critical hit. So if you’re a headshot wizard, then you have a high potential (but not a guarantee) of doing more damage than the Broken Butterfly with each shot. However, its precision rating is only slightly higher than the Broken Butterfly’s, so it’s tough to hit enemy weak points consistently.
