The Star Wars Jedi: Survivor graphics options include a Quality and Performance mode on consoles, which allow players to choose between whether they want to prioritize graphics or frame rate. But which one should you choose when playing the new Respawn action RPG on PS5 and Xbox Series X?
Should you choose Star Wars Jedi: Survivor quality or performance mode?
If you’re looking for a Star Wars Jedi: Survivor experience that prioritizes graphics over gameplay performance, then Quality mode should be your choice. But if you want your lightsaber action to have a smooth frame rate, Performance mode is for you.
Jedi: Survivor’s Quality mode has a locked frame rate of 30 FPS at a 4K resolution, while its Performance mode targets 60 FPS at 1440p on PS5 and Xbox Series X. However, prior to the day one patch, the frame rate in Performance mode regularly dips below that 60 FPS mark. Despite these drops, this will still be the ideal way to play for many, given that the game requires fast reaction times for its parry-heavy combat.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s PC performance issues have already been well-noted, with the game experiencing routine frame rate drops on the platform. While this is also an issue on PS5 and Xbox Series X, it’s not as debilitating, meaning that Performance mode should be satisfactory. Respawn will hopefully release an update that will eventually get the game to more regularly hit that 60 FPS target in the future.
