Baldur’s Gate 3 Selunite Outpost Turrets: How to Turn Off Gate Statues

Two Baldur’s Gate 3 Selunite Outpost turrets flank the gate of the temple. You likely stumbled upon this outpost by completing the moon puzzle in the Selune temple that has been repurposed and desecrated by goblins. A pair of statues protecting the gate begins shooting out bolts of radiant damage to any creatures that gets close. That includes the minotaur that attempts to charge the stairs up to the temple as well as your party if they happen to head out through the gate. However, turning off these turrets isn’t obvious. Here’s how to disable the statue turrets at the Selunite Outpost in BG3.

How to turn off Baldur’s Gate 3 Selunite Outpost turrets

To turn off the Selunite Outpost turrets, all you need to do is shoot the moonstone that charges the statues.

If you follow the white lines of magical energy that power the turrets, it will lead through the gate and eventually rise up from a basin. Above the basin is a floating moonstone, though it can be tough to see if you’re on the ground floor.

To bring it into view, head up the wooden ladders on either side of the gate and turn the camera around so that the moonstone is easy to target. A simple ranged attack with a bow or a ranged magical attack, like a Ray of Frost or Firebolt, will do the trick. Once the moonstone shatters, you can easily walk out of the temple without getting bombarded by radiant projectiles.

The main story requires that you find the druid Halsin who has been locked up in the goblin-filled castle, so finding this outpost is not too out of the way. Later on in the story, you are given the option of travelling through the Underdark using this passageway that eventually leads you to Act 2. However, if you got through the Underdark using a different method, you’ll need to head through the side of the temple to get inside and deactivate the moonstone.
