A Phasmophobia PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch release date would open up this cult multiplayer horror game up to a whole new audience. Many are wondering if the game is coming out on PS5, Xbox, and Switch, so here’s everything we know.
Is Phasmophobia coming out on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S?
Phasmophobia has been confirmed for a PS5 and Xbox Series X|S release.
Kinetic Games announced these two late ports in June. The PS5 version will even support PSVR2. These versions have also been a long time in the making, as Kinetic noted in June 2021 that it was “looking into” it after growing in size.
Is there a Phasmophobia PS5 and Xbox Series X|S release date?
There is no official Phasmophobia PS5 or Xbox Series X|S release date, though Kinetic Games said it was launching in October 2023.
While it didn’t divulge many details after the announcement, the studio noted on July 25 that it was still on track for August. However, that changed, as a follow-up tweet on August 24 noted that a fire within the studio had impeded its ability to test the game. And as such it is slated to launch sometime in the week leading up to Halloween.
Is there a Phasmophobia Switch release date?
There is no Phasmophobia Switch release date.
Phasmophobia has not been confirmed for the Switch and likely won’t make its way there. It’s a multiplayer focused game that’s only releasing on the strongest consoles, which the Switch, in both scenarios, often isn’t as suited for. The studio also hasn’t talked about a possible Nintendo Switch version, either.
The game’s description reads:
“Phasmophobia is a four-player online co-op psychological horror where you and your team members of paranormal investigators will enter haunted locations filled with paranormal activity and gather as much evidence of the paranormal as you can. You will use your ghost hunting equipment to search for and record evidence of whatever ghost is haunting the location to sell onto a ghost removal team.
“You can choose to support your team by monitoring the location with CCTV cameras and motion sensors from the safety of the truck or head inside and get your hands dirty with the ghostly activity that will get increasingly hostile as time goes on.”
