While maintaining the health bar in Blasphemous 2 is important, making sure you have enough magic (or Fervor) is also crucial to coming out on top. Here’s how to upgrade magic in Blasphemous 2 and what items you’ll need.
How to increase magic in Blasphemous 2
To upgrade your magic in Blasphemous 2, you’ll need to track down a certain NPC that’s a giant floating hand. It’ll be at the spot on the map shown in the above picture in the Streets of Wakes area. The icon on the map is a blue flame-like sprite. While it seems fitting, the actual hand icons are the teleporters.
Once the hand has been tracked down, you have to give him a Fervent Kiss item. This item can be found in various ways from chests to being the reward for completing a combat challenge. It just looks like a regular napkin.
How to refill magic in Blasphemous 2
Magic usually comes back just through attacking enemies or, after a certain point, praying at a Prie Dieu (the save point alters). However, you may notice that certain parts of the magic bar become locked off. This happens after dying, and it’s not permanent.
Going back to the spot where you died will refill some of that meter, but it can also be fully cleared by visiting the cathedral in The City of the Blessed Name and paying the mysterious man (who is called the Confessor) in the booth at the end of the long red robe at the above spot on the map. The amount of Tears of Atonement changes on how much of the bar is capped off. There are figures that can diminish how much of the bar gets locked off after death, too. Paying him a certain amount also unlocks two rosary beads.
However, there are benefits to not paying. While magic gain and defense gain fall the lower the bar is, players also get more Tears of Atonement and Martyrdom Points. Essentially, players can have less defense and limited magic in exchange for better experience.
