An Assassin’s Creed Mirage transmog system lets players use one set of gear, while looking like they have another set equipped. It is a staple that has been in may RPGs, as well as past Assassin’s Creed games. Here’s how the AC Mirage transmog system works.
Is there transmog in AC Mirage?
Assassin’s Creed Mirage does have a transmog system, but it is not as widely applicable as it has been in the past and has some strange stipulations. For starters, you cannot have the perks of one outfit and have the looks of another outfit. This means you can’t have the Initiate of Alamut outfit looks but the perks of the Abbasid Knight outfit. Visiting a tailor does not change this, either.
However, you can mix and match your costume and outfit, which the game differentiates between, as shown by their two separate slots in the menu. Costumes have no perks associated with them. It is easier to think of them like skins. Any of the costumes can be put on any of the outfits.
For example, you can have the perks of the Abbasid Knight outfit while wearing the Master Assassin costume. It is technically transmog, but quite a bit more limited than transmog in other games (and even other Assassin’s Creed games). It is unclear if Ubisoft will patch in a new transmog system in the future.
You can, however, freely transmog both your sword and dagger. This can’t be done in the gear menu, so go to a blacksmith (the icon is a pair of crossed swords) and make your way to the Appearance tab in the shop. Go to the sword or dagger you want to change the look of and then confirm your selection. It costs 50 dirhams each time, but that is not a high price.
