MW3 Beta custom loadouts are not available at the start. The first few matches of the beta will require you to use premade loadouts. This includes three specific loadouts for three different playstyles that includes the survival-based Demolitionist, point-taking Rusher, and stealthy Combat Controller. However, if you’re a Call of Duty veteran, having to deal with these preset loadouts is probably frustrating. Here’s if or when custom loadouts is unlocked in the Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 beta.
When do MW3 beta custom loadouts unlock?
Custom loadouts unlock when your profile reaches Level 4 in the beta.
These player-customized loadouts will allow you to adjust various perks, weapons, and equipment before heading into a match. At Level 4, you’ll also receive the Infantry Vest perk that increases Tactical Sprint and lowers its cooldown, in addition to the PILA launcher that features self-propelled, surface-to-air missiles. As you progress to Level 20, you’ll unlock even more weapons, gear, field upgrades, and perks so that you can customize your loadout even further.
In particular, we should note the new vest items that are new to the franchise. In addition to the Infantry Vest perk mentioned earlier, at Level 10 you’ll obtain the Engineer Vest perk that focuses your playstyle and changes the type and number of gear slots you have access to.
It’s unclear how long it will take for you to reach Level 4, but it should be fairly fast. Gaining levels quickly will help you create a custom loadout that will give you a slight advantage over other players as the beta expands over time. On Sunday, October 8, all PlayStation players will have access to the open beta during the first weekend, which ends on October 10. Activision will then reopen the beta for crossplay on October 12, where Xbox and PC players will have their first opportunity to join the open beta in early access.
